Traveling Doula -- Fourth Trimester Support -- Online Guidance -- Co-building Your Village
My Offerings
What does support in the fourth trimester look like? Depending on your culture and the place in which you recide on earth, it will look different. I offer you the following
Karibu mama translates to ‘welcome mother’ in the Swahili language.
Bringing a baby into the breathing world is easy - taking care of yourself while taking care of the new baby is not. Nourishing food, supportive herbs, warming oils, restorative rest, replenishing drinks, a listening ear, an extra pair of hands and less worry is what I can offer during the first 40 days after birth.
The amount of days and hours you would like to have me support you can be discussed beforehand and prolonged if desired.
Let's schedule an online meet up where we can dive deeper into what your ideal support would look and feel like - no strings attached.
Mothers should be able to receive support and ask for help from those around her without the feeling of failing at motherhood.
Aigachu Village is a setup for a 40 day commitment by friends and family to support the mother-to-be. The village will be gathered in an online platform, without any involvement of social media, where they can coordinate which support will be given and when, in order to diminish the amount of extra worries and work for the new mother and her family.
Friends and family, near and far, who are invited by the mother to be part of her village, will also be able to follow online courses, at their own chosen time, where they'll receive information on useful ways to support the new mother and her family during the first 40 days and beyond.
You will be able to find this app in your app store soon. Stay tuned!
Dona de Volta translates to 'the lady returns' in the Portuguese language.
This is a day where we meet up to look back at the time we spent Together after the birth of your little one, to reflect on the challenges you have met in this new chapter of life and to give thanks for everything motherhood has brought you thus far.
It is a day of receiving as you have been giving plenty. A day to honour you.
An after birth care day is a beautiful experience to gift your friend, sister, daughter, colleague, the neighbour, you name them.
Because the baby won't remember who held them or which gift you brought. But the mother will forever remember who showed up and supported her after birth.
Roda translates to circle in Portuguese.
Women's circles are an ancient tradition where women share, connect, heal and Rise. The feeling of well-being, personal growth and sense of community are just a few of the benefits these circles offer.
Mama's roda is a bi-weekly online gathering for Mothers who would Like to connect with other Mama's, to be Heard, to be seen and to be able to have a moment to breathe and recharge her batteries, but who at the same time can't always manage to leave the house/the baby/the responsibilities.
To make the roda as healing as possible there's a maximum of 6 participants.
Can someone please hold my baby so i can....
Oh wait, i can hold my baby and still do x-y-z?!
Let us show you several different ways to hold your baby close to you which do not involve your hands, so you can have more freedom of movement while your little one still feels safe.
Join us in a live workshop where Lieke and myself demonstrate and help you out with different baby carriers and traditional African khanga's.
Dates and locations will be shared via the newsletter first and then as well on Instagram.
Samba da benção translates to 'samba of blessing' in Portuguese and is also the title of a famous song by the Brazilian composer Vinicius de Moraes.
During this Mother Blessing we will celebrate the mother-to-be while incorporating the essence of the Afro-Brazilian samba music. A Mother Blessing is a rite of passage ceremony, celebrating the maiden becoming a mother or the mother becoming mother anew.
The women present will focus on making mama feel beautiful, Loved, supported and free from worry. We will use our voices to speak loving wishes and sing songs. We will move our hips to the rhythm of the samba drums to release tension and sit in stillness to connect with intention.
