A month after being born in the Netherlands, we moved to the Caribbean, to live my youth on the island of Curaçao. Being the daughter of a Malawian mother and a Dutch father I felt both lost in between the different cultures inside of me, as well as embraced by the one I was living in.
The warmth, the air, the food, the laughter, the water, the music, the dancing - it has formed the foundation on which I have built my being. These are the things that fill my cup.
